Florida, země slunečního svitu, Vás srdečně vítá a nabízí nádherné, přímo vysněné
pláže. Florida znamená opravdu zážitek z dovolené. Pokud víte, kolik překrásných pláží, zábavných a přírodních
parků je zde k objevování, nudit se určitě nebudete. Milovníci golfu mohou vybírat z nesčetných udržovaných
golfových hřišť. Z mnoha přístavů vyjíždí lodě, na kterých si můžete dokonce zahrát o peníze. Florida je oblíbeným
prázdninovým cílem Američanů v období od Vánoc do Velikonoc. V této době je zde mnoho slunce a velmi příjemné
teploty. Letní měsíce (přibližně květen až říjen) jsou horké a velmi vlhké.
Gastronomie
Návštěvníkům je k dispozici velký počet restaurací a národních kuchyní, především
v oblastech hodně navštěvovaných turisty. Jsou zde všechny možné restaurace, od řeckých, italských, přes ty, co
se upsaly průměrnému americkému vkusu, až po 'gourmet-chrámy' pro náročné. Vedle toho existují samozřejmě známé
řetězce podniku jako 'Dennys' nebo 'Mc Donalds', které nabízejí levnou, ne však vždy chutnou stravu. Specialitou
Floridy je 'Key Lime Pie' a tu byste měli rozhodně ochutnat.
Jízda autem
Vzdálenosti a rychlost se měří v mílích. 1 míle (mil) 1.61 km. Jezdí se v pravém
jízdním pruhu jako v kontinentální Evropě. Auta z půjčoven jsou téměř výlučně vybavena automatickou převodovkou.
Všeobecně platí, že se zde jezdí klidněji a méně hekticky, než v Evropě. Rychlostní omezení tomu odpovídá: v
obci mezi 15 mílemi/hodinu - mph (24 km/h) a 35 mph (56 km/h). Mimo obec do 42 mph (72 km/h). Na vícepruhových
krajových silnicích a dálnicích (Highways) je povoleno 55 mph (88 km/h), někdy dokonce 65 mph (104 km/h).
Bez auta se většinou neobejdete. K půjčení potřebujete řidičský průkaz, přednost má mezinárodní řidičský průkaz.
